JACKSON -- Stella L. Hobeck, 76, of Jackson, died Tuesday, March 7, 1995, at her home.
She was born Nov. 25, 1918, at Friedheim, daughter of Ben and Edna Moore Kayser. She and Ora "Bill" Hobeck were married Sept. 11, 1935. He died Feb. 11, 1978.
Hobeck moved here from Friedheim 14 years ago. She had worked at the former International Shoe Co. in Perryville and had been a cook at the former Stearns Cafe in Jackson and the Sewing Cafe at Old Appleton. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Friedheim.
Survivors include a foster daughter, Janet Brandes of Jackson; a brother, Edgar Kayser of Granite City, Ill.; two sisters, Madeline Kester of Chatham, Ill., Nell Kieninger of Pocahontas; three foster grandchildren, and four foster great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Adam Mueller and Wayne Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
