WHITE HOUSE, Tenn. -- Lloyd "Stanley" Pierce, 67, of White House died Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2019, at White House Health Care and Rehabilitation, surrounded by family, after a long battle with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.

He was born Nov. 26, 1951, in Cape Girardeau to Lloyd and Freida Riden Pierce. He married the love of his life and best friend, Sue Birk, on June 13, 1997, in Cape Girardeau.

Stanley served as a Seabee in the Navy Reserves and deployed to Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Desert Storm in 1991.

He worked at Procter & Gamble for 29 years, retiring in January 2014. Before his career at P&G, he worked with his father as a bricklayer and stone mason for many years.

Stan couldn fix anything. He took pride in his home and serving his neighbors and friends. He was especially happy when working on his daughter's property in Tennessee, performing yard work, building a fire pit and completing any other general maintenance projects he could find.

He was a member of Robertson County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2120. He was a true patriot and took pride in his military service and honoring the sacrifice of other military veterans. He served as the Post 2120 webmaster and performed several other duties, such as helping with fundraisers, delivering Christmas baskets and participating in various service opportunities. He was affectionately known as the Cotton Candy Man for community events.

He attended Temple Baptist Church in White House and greatly enjoyed the fellowship of his Connect Class. He had a very strong faith and shared God's love wherever he went, often sharing with other cancer patients the message, "God's got this."

Survivors include his wife, Sue Pierce of White House; two daughters, Leanne (Wayne) Booth of Cape Carteret, North Carolina, and Courtney (Bobby) Wilson of Cottontown, Tennessee; brother, Vic Pierce of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dorothy Coad of St. Louis and Carolyn Steffe of Mansfield, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Sam (Jana) Birk of Cape Girardeau and Shannon (Connie Bollinger) Birk of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Sally (Jim) Walker of Jackson and Sherry (Charlie) Goshen of Jackson; four grandchildren, Summer Booth, Brandon Booth, Oliver Booth and Ava Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and father- and mother-in-law, Joe and Cherry Sue Birk.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Temple Baptist Church Associate Pastor Mark Carroll officiating.
