Sondra Kathleen Gockel, 57, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Nov. 24, 2023, at Southeast Hospital.

She was born April 16, 1966, in Cape Girardeau to Joseph Edward and Aredah Catherine Harvell Gockel. She and Baxter Hoover were married Sept. 8, 2001, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas.

Survivors include her husband, Baxter Hoover of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Sara (Edward) Moncayo of Nashville, Tennessee, and Kristy Jo Strop of Whitewater.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Celebration of life will be at a later date.
