O'FALLON, Mo. -- Sister Bernardine Duenne, 90, of O'Fallon, died Friday, May 2, 2008.

She was born Feb. 15, 1918, in Charleston, Mo., daughter of Henry B. and Catherine A. Bruendermann Duenne.

Duenne was an elementary schoolteacher in Charleston, Florissant, Mo., and elsewhere for more than 25 years.

She was a pastoral minister for three years at St. Mary's Parish in Quincy, Ill., and worked as a nurses aide at Motherhouse Infirmary in O'Fallon.

Survivors include three sisters, Catherine Showmaker of Cape Girardeau, Rosalia Scherer of Cape Girardeau and Monica Dirnberger of Oran, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.

The first visitation will be from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Monday with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the Most Precious Blood Motherhouse Parlor in O'Fallon, followed by a service at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The second visitation will be from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church in Charleston, followed by the funeral at 11 a.m. at Texas Bend Cemetery in Charleston.
