Funeral mass for Sister Alice Blunck, SSND, a former teacher in Cape Girardeau, was held Tuesday at the School Sisters of Notre Dame Motherhouse in St. Louis County.
Blunck, 85, died Friday, Feb. 4, 1994.
A native of St. Louis, she entered the School Sisters in 1929. She received a bachelor's degree from Our Lady of the Lake University in Texas in 1943, and a master's degree from DePaul University in 1948.
From 1932-43 she taught junior high and high school in the St. Louis area, San Antonio, Texas, and Effingham, Ill.
She taught at Notre Dame High School here from 1948-54, then taught high school in St. Louis, and was assistant professor of business at Notre Dame College in St. Louis from 1958-77. She retired from teaching in 1978 in Highland, Ill.
Blunck then served in a clerical capacity at the Motherhouse.
Survivors include four sisters, Rose Grosskettler, Frances Sadler, Ruth Nienhaus and Estelle Lindenbusch, all of St. Louis.
