GIPSY -- Silas William Borders, 78, of Gipsy, died Tuesday, March 21, 1995, at Advance Nursing and Residential Care Center in Advance.
He was born Sept. 12, 1916, near Zalma, son of William R. and Hattie Mae Armstrong Borders. He and Mildred James were married Nov. 4, 1943, at Zalma.
Borders was a retired truck driver, and member of Balch Church near Advance.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Rev. J.D. Borders of Casper, Wyo., John Borders of Gipsy, Staff Sgt. James Borders of Fort Hood, Texas; four daughters, Linda Burger of Chaffee, Ruth Carr of Cape Girardeau, Brenda Cookemboo of Portageville, Ruby Burchett of Marble Hill; 14 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, five sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Ethel Myers and Robert Myers officiating. Burial will be in Balch Cemetery near Zalma.
