EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Shirley Wheatley, 66, of East Prairie died Tuesday, March 26, 2002, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.
He was born April 27, 1935, in Anniston, Mo., son of Clyde and Fannie Mae Griffith Wheatley. He and Marjorie Mae Dodge were married Oct. 6, 1956, in Corinth, Miss.
Wheatley was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County, and a retired truck driver. He was a member of First Christian Church.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Terry Wheatley of East Prairie, Clyde Wheatley of Sikeston, Mo.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters.
Friends may call at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Fred Girdwood and Martin Lucas will officiate. Burial will be in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
