Shirley Sadler

ANNA, Ill. — Shirley Ann Sadler, 73, of Anna died Monday, Dec. 22, 2008, in Jackson.

She was born Nov. 10, 1935, daughter of Mike and Edith Hamblin Poole. She and Roy Modglin Jr. were married June 25, 1954, in Union County. He preceded her in death. She then married Ervin Sadler in 1974 in Union County. He also preceded her in death.

Sadler was a member of Anna Heights Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary and Anna Moose Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Edith "Edie" Ice of Anna; two stepchildren, Sue Abernathy of Buncombe, Ill., Leonard Sadler of Anna; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, four sisters and a half sister.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro, and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday at Anna Heights Baptist Church.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. John Nimmo officiating. Burial will be in Casper Cemetery in Anna.
