SHIRLEY RODIN

Shirley Jean Rodin, 62, of Portage, Ind., died Thursday, May 29, 1997, at her home.

She was born July 13, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Joseph Thomas and Linda Marie Pierce Kurre. She and Carl O. Rodin were married Feb. 14, 1959, in Jackson.

Rodin was a graduate of a Cape Girardeau high school, and Deaconess School of Nursing in St. Louis.

She was a registered nurse and had worked at Methodist Hospital in Gary, Ind., and at St. Mary Medical Hospital in Hobart, Ind. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Portage.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Erik Rodin of Valparaiso, Ind.; two daughters, Laura Deleon of Hammond, Ind., Linda Evola of Portage; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Friends may call at Engel Funeral Home in Portage from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Portage, with the Rev. Steve Kaehr officiating. Burial will be in McCool Cemetery in Portage.
