CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Shirley Bryant Reeves, 69, of Charleston died Saturday, April 16, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Diehlstadt, Mo., daughter of Paul and Stella Bryant. She and Byron "Barney" Reeves were married April 18, 1954.
Reeves worked as a secretary at Charleston High School. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Charleston.
Survivors include her husband; her mother of Sikeston, Mo.; two sons, Byron "Buddie" Reeves of Charleston, Jeffory Reeves of New York City, N.Y.; a daughter, Melody Smith, of Valencia, Calif.; two sisters, Barbara Szabo of Mio, Mich., Paula Harper of Sikeston; and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Keith Huffman officiating. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
