Shirley M. Mainord, 61, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, March 11, 1998, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born July 2, 1936, at Sikeston, daughter of George and Edna Modest Reynolds DeRoush. She and Carl E. Mainord were married Nov. 25, 1956, at Poplar Bluff. He died Oct. 8, 1994.
Mainord was a cake decorator 18 years, having worked at IGA Foodliner, Piggly Wiggly, and Storey's Marketplace. She was a member of Crowe Congregational Methodist Church. She was formerly of Matthews.
Survivors include a son, George Mainord of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Carla Sexton of Sikeston; two stepsons, Larry and Russell Mainord of Perryville, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Louanna Hoover of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Betty Williams of Yuma, Ariz., Georgia Dement of Dexter; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bill McCormick officiating. Burial will be in Matthews Cemetery.
