Shirley Macklem, 66, of Kuttawa, Ky., died Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at her home.
She had taught math in various school systems since 1966. She retired from Shawnee Community College in Southern Illinois with 11 years' service. She was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Eddyville, Ky.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years, James "Jim" Macklem; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Tina Macklem of Cape Girardeau; and a grandson, Gavin Macklem.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James T. and Leona Morris Henson Jr.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Lakeland Funeral Home in Eddyville. A prayer service will be held at 6.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mark Catholic Church in Eddyville, with the Rev. Shaiju Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Kuttawa Cemetery.
