PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Shirley A. Huber, 78, of Perryville died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 20, 1935, in Perry County, Mo., daughter of Andrew and Philomena Ponder Winschel. She and Weldon Joseph Huber were married June 16, 1954. He preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1986.
Shirley was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, St. Vincent's Ladies Sodality, St. Vincent High School alumni in Perryville, Mental Disability Disorders Association, Boy Scouts of America and Lifetime Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include a son, Richard Huber of Moscow Mills, Mo.; six daughters, Connie Huber (Laura Muir) of St. Louis, Susan (Gary) Wibbenmeyer of Cape Girardeau, Cynthia (Gary) Stucker of Odessa, Mo., Jacqueline (Charles) Robinson of Perryville, Elizabeth Huber of Raymore, Mo., and Carolyn (Cory) Gegg of Wildwood, Mo.; two sisters, Lorraine Timmerman of New York and Marie Hayden of Perryville; 17 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Stephenson Huber; three brothers, Linus, Cletus and Gilbert Winschel; three sisters, Ursula Michaud, Veronica Butler and Rita Richardet; and a grandson, Nathan Wibbenmeyer.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville. The Catholic wake will be at 7 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent de Paul Church in Perryville, with the Rev. Gerald Blessing officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials are preferred to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the Nathan Wibbenmeyer Tuition Scholarship Fund at Notre Dame Regional High School.
