PUXICO -- Shirley Hon, 62, of Puxico died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999, at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born Jan. 20, 1937, in St. Louis, daughter of John and Blanch Whitt Young. She and Gene Hon were married Dec. 10, 1973, at Poplar Bluff.
Hon had lived in the Rombauer and Puxico area since moving from St. Louis in 1970. She and her husband farmed, raised livestock, and opened the Puxico Sale Barn. She was a member of Richmond Chapel Church near Wappapello.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Mike Gardiner of Hillsboro, Bobby Gardiner of Imperial, Benny Hon of Fenton; two daughters, Linda Williams of St. Charles, Linda Fry of Puxico; her mother, Blanch Gerwitz of Puxico; two brothers, Robert and Ronnie Young of St. Louis; a sister, Barb Cain of Greenville, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico after 6 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Marshall Link and Rudy Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Puxico Cemetery.
