CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Shirley Ann Childers, 73, of Chaffee passed away Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at the family home in Chaffee.

She was born in Rockview, Missouri, on June 15, 1942, to the late Tony and Ida Earhart Carroll. She married Jerry A. Childers on March 19, 1988, and he survives.

Shirley was owner and operator of Shirley's Salon in Chaffee. She was a member of Rockview Methodist Church; Sikeston Eastern Star #137, where she was past Worthy Matron and past District Worthy Matron; and Ladies VFW Auxiliary Post 3127.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry, of the home; two sons, Charles Hinkle of Jackson and Douglas (Janie) Hinkle of Gorham, Illinois; a daughter, Lisa (Brian) Burger of Jackson; a brother, Donnie (Jolene) Carroll of Jackson; six grandchildren, Ashley Diebold, Derek Miller, Jordan Anderson, Andrew Hinkle, Valerie Hinkle and Douglas Hinkle Jr.; and four great-grandchildren, Mason and Aidan Diebold and Danica and Drake Miller.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Jim Carroll.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. The Ladies VFW Auxiliary service will be held at 5 p.m., followed by the Eastern Star service at 7 p.m.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gwen Streeter officiating.

Burial will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
