WYATT -- Shirley Carnell, 60, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born Dec. 5, 1938, at Sikeston, daughter of David Andrew and Maymie Merrick. WYATT -- Shirley Carnell, 60, died Friday, Nov. 26, 1999, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 5, 1938, at Sikeston, daughter of David Andrew and Maymie Merrick. In 1954 she married George Kaywood Carnell. He died Nov. 26, 1983.

She was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church at Diehlstadt.

Survivors include a son, Timothy G. Carnell of Diehlstadt; four sisters, Betty Crawford and Barbara Schuchart, both of Sikeston, Janet Merrick of San Diego, Calif. and Carolyn Rainey of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Odle will officiate, with burial to follow at the Mainord Cemetery at Diehlstadt.
