Shirley Ann Blaylock, 64, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1934, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of H. Clarence and Virginia Moore Ervin. She and William B. Blaylock were married Nov. 20, 1955, in Cape Girardeau.

Blaylock was a 1952 graduate of Central High School and member of the National Honor Society.

She was a secretary many years to the superintendent of Cape Girardeau Public Schools.

Blaylock was a member of First General Baptist Church and had served as pianist, organist, Sunday School teacher, and church secretary. She sang in the church choir and Freedom Celebration Choir, and had worked with the church tape ministry for nursing homes.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Mark and Will Blaylock of St. Louis; her mother of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Carol Knight of Cape Girardeau; and four grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. David Griesemer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
