Shirley Ann Beggs, 77, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2017, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born May 17, 1940, in Kelso, Missouri, to Edward J. and Ellen V. Smith Martin.
She was a lab assistant at Southeast Hospital. She was a member of the "Early Birds" Bowling League for 38 years; Red Hats and Southeast Volunteer Auxiliary.
She is survived by a son, James (Tonya) Beggs of Marion, Illinois; three daughters, Theresa (Dennis) Horst of Jackson, Tamara Nelson of Cape Girardeau and Brenda (John) Reed of Manhattan, Illinois; a brother, Gene (Jackie) Martin of Scott City; a sister, Pearl Gowins of Portland, Indiana; a sister-in-law, Mary Martin of Stonington, Illinois; six grandchildren, Nicole, Paul, Cyndi, Lucas, Brooke and McKenzie, and two great-grandchildren, Joseph and Olivia.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Irvin Martin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel with the Rev. Stan Hargis officiating.
Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery in Scott City.
