SHERMAN ALBERT LATHAM

MATTHEWS -- Sherman Albert "Bert" Latham, 75, of Matthews, died Monday, Dec. 23, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Jan. 18, 1916, at Matthews, son of E.B. and Claude Bell Bruce Latham. He married Irene Harwood Jan. 11, 1936, at Canalou. She died Aug. 18, 1982. He later married Mary Ryta Hann April 21, 1984, at Sikeston.

Latham was a self-employed farmer.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dwight Latham of Sikeston; two daughters, Margaret Hawkins of Matthews, Berta Nance of Germantown, Tenn.; two stepsons, Darren Knuckles of Morehouse, Brian Knuckles of the home; two stepdaughters, Cindy Jones of Sikeston, Tammy Tucker of Wardell; two brothers, Leo Latham of Oklahoma, Ross Latham of Piedmont; two sisters, Agnes Novak of Oklahoma, Jewel Whitten of Matthews; four grandchildren, and two stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Ken Bowlin will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
