MARYVILLE, Ill. -- Sheila Y. Adams, 81 of Maryville, born Oct. 13, 1940, in Cairo, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Sheila retired from Nooter Corporation after 27 years of service as a human resources administrator. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and the Looking Glass Corvette Club. Sheila was an avid grandmother and loved to do things for and with her grandchildren...

MARYVILLE, Ill. -- Sheila Y. Adams, 81 of Maryville, born Oct. 13, 1940, in Cairo, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

Sheila retired from Nooter Corporation after 27 years of service as a human resources administrator. She was a member of Troy United Methodist Church and the Looking Glass Corvette Club. Sheila was an avid grandmother and loved to do things for and with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Orville and Dorothy Dimple Stuart Thomas.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Adams, whom she married Jan. 2, 1982; five children, Brian (Margie) Huffman of Maryville; Brent (Amy) Huffman of Town and Country, Missouri; and Mark Adams, Lori Adams and Stacy Adams, all of Collinsville, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Keith Thomas of Lake Zurich, Illinois, and Stephen "Butch" Thomas of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Joyce Montgomery of Cape Girardeau; numerous nieces and nephews.

Upon her request, Sheila will be cremated, and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Sheila's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center St., Maryville, IL 62062.
