SEDGEWICKVILLE, Mo. -- Sharon Kay Smith, 62, of Sedgewickville died Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008 at her home.
She was born April 1, 1945 at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Elzia Miles and Vera Edna Statler James. She and Kenneth Ray Smith were married Aug. 13, 1966.
Smith had worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. as a supervisor in the business office and for the Telephone Company Credit Union and Telephone Pioneers. She was a member of the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church, where she was on the church council and was a member of the Lutheran League and the Sedgewickville Lutheran Cemetery Fund. She was also a member of the American Business Woman Association, Order of the Eastern Star, FFA, Meadow Heights Alumni, Willing Workers and the 4-H club.
She previously owned the Country Mall in Sedgewickville and was co-owner of Through the Years Antique Mall in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Rayla Kay Bishop of Jackson; two brothers, Terry W. James of Jackson and Lynn James of Sedgewickville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton, Mo., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Sedgewickville Lutheran Church. An Order of the Eastern Star service will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Jerry Bailey and the Rev. William Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Sedgewickville Cemetery.
