ADVANCE, Mo. — Scott Dee Markham, 75, of Advance passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Glennon, Missouri, the son of Norman Richard and Pearl Anne Harris Markham. Scott had worked as a car-control manager for Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years. He was a member of Dongola Friendship Baptist Church. ADVANCE, Mo. — Scott Dee Markham, 75, of Advance passed away Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 10, 1942, in Glennon, Missouri, the son of Norman Richard and Pearl Anne Harris Markham.

Scott had worked as a car-control manager for Frisco/Burlington Northern Railroad for 30 years. He was a member of Dongola Friendship Baptist Church. He had been the president of the Dongola Cemetery Board.

Scott and Sharion Diana Payne were united in marriage Sept. 5, 1964, in Greenbrier, Missouri, and she survives of the home.

Survivors include his wife, Sharion Markham; a son, Richard Dee Markham of Doe Run, Missouri; a daughter, Connie Massey of Marble Hill, Missouri; three grandchildren he raised in his home, Juliet Kiem of Wappappello, Missouri, Norman Richard Markham II of Advance and John Markham of Springfield, Missouri; four other grandchildren, Kristen Hintz, David Price, Renee Brachler and Joshua Price; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald and James Winchester, both of Marble Hill; and a sister, Joyce Holder of Advance.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jerry Winchester.

Visitation was Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

A funeral service was Sunday at the chapel, with the Rev. Ronnie McAtee officiating. Burial was at Dongola Cemetery in Dongola, Missouri.
