DIGGINS, Mo. -- William Scott Cauble, 67, of Diggins departed this life Thursday, April 18, 2013, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Mo.
The son of Charles W. and Louise A. Bierschwal Cauble was born Dec. 22, 1945, in Cape Girardeau. Scott and Sherry Clemons Shehorn were married June 21, 2003. The couple lovingly raised their families.
Scott, as he was known to his family and friends, was raised in the Cape Girardeau area and enjoyed the area lakes and hills. After graduating from Cape Girardeau Central High School, he entered the United States National Guard and served from 1966 to 1971.
He worked for Bob Tansley Trucking and leased his own truck over the years to provide for his family. In 1995, he settled down in the Seymour, Mo., area where he operated Countrywide Trailers from 1997 to 2005.
Scott is survived by his wife, Sherry Cauble of the home; four children, Christy Cauble of West Palm Beach, Fla., Scott Cauble Jr. and wife Tari and Leslie Parker and Todd Goth, all of Cape Girardeau; three stepchildren, Homer Shehorn and wife Cherrie of Oklahoma City, Elizabeth Deain and husband Darren of Raymore, Mo., and Ashley Shehorn of Nixa, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; two sisters, Doris Hagedorn and husband Richard of Cape Girardeau and Mary Hale of Sikeston, Mo.; several nieces and nephews; his beloved pugs, Annabell, Gunnie, Bossy, Kurosh and Tippy; as well as a host of many dear family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Taylor Deain; and a brother-in-law, Bob Hale.
A good man, Scott spoiled rotten those he loved. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing the area lakes, and dancing with Sherry. He loved well, lived his life with passion and found joy in the simple things of life. Scott lived his life to the fullest and leaves a legacy of service to his country, love for his family and standing for what he believed in.
Scott Cauble was a loving husband, a devoted dad and pa pa, a cherished brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories he created for each of us.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Holman Howe Chapel in Seymour.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel.
