ADVANCE, Mo. — Sarah Gertrude Wade, 97, of Advance died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at Advance Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1911, in Hardin County, Tenn., daughter of James Thomas and Amanda Love Hobbs. She and James Gandy Wade were married June 10, 1934. He died July 31, 1979.
Wade moved to Advance in 1977 from Marble Hill, Mo. She was a member of Golden Ages and RSVP.
Survivors include a son, James (Ilene) Wade Jr. of Advance; two daughters, Robbie (Albert) Napier of De Soto, Mo., Shirley (Jack) Owens of Scott City; a son-in-law, Carl Napier of Sikeston, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two brothers, two sisters and three great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee, Mo.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel, with the Revs. Jack Crawford and Vester Keesee officiating. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery at Perkins, Mo.
