SARAH M. EDWARDS

JACKSON -- Sarah M. Edwards, 99, of Jackson, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 1991, at Advance Nursing Home.

She was born April 7, 1892, near Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Cooper. She married Tom Edwards, who died in 1940.

Edwards moved to Jackson in 1941 from Hartshorn. She provided domestic and child care services, and for 22 years took care of the nursery at New McKendree United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Arthur and Betty Edwards of Jackson; a granddaughter, Shery Verney of Millersville, and a great-grandson, Trever Verney of Millersville.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Charles and Leonard; eight brothers and sisters.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Raymond Epps will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
