ORAN, Mo. -- Sarah Carolyn Alfultis, 101, of Valrico, Fla., died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at her home.
She was born March 16, 1903, at East Prairie, Mo., daughter of Benton Lafayette and Clara Clarinda Bonifield Barnhill. She and Henry O. Alfultis were married Sept. 11, 1927. He died Jan. 16, 1975.
Alfultis had been a teacher at Blodgett, Vanduser and Oran public schools. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Oran and its Women's Society of Christian Service, United Methodist Women, was a Sunday school teacher and board trustee. She was also a member of the Oran Library Board and Oran Garden Club.
Survivors include a son, Richard Alfultis of North Bethesda, Md.; a daughter, Kay AuBuchon of Valrico; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and seven great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, and Saturday after 9 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Karen Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
