RED BUD, Ill. -- Samuel James "Sam" Hogendobler, 9, of Red Bud died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Sept. 23, 1991, in Belleville, Ill., son of David and Charlotte Ivie Hogendobler.
Hogendobler would have been a fourth-grade pupil at Red Bud Elementary School. He was a member of Cub Scouts and Khoury League.
Survivors include his mother; his father and stepmother, David and Tammy Hogendobler; a brother, Lee Hogendobler; a half sister, Ciara Hogendobler; a stepsister, Erica Hartmann, all of Red Bud; paternal grandparents, Mike and Judy Hogendobler of Villa Ridge, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Emma Ivie of East Prairie, Mo.; and stepgrandparents, Merle and JoAnn Kusker of Red Bud.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.
Friends may call at Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home in Red Bud from 4-9 p.m. today, and Friday from 8-11 a.m.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Miller will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud.
