Sammie Ellis Knupp, 89, formerly of Charleston, Mo., died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at the Regency Place in Greenfield, Ind.
He was born Sept. 8, 1916, in Dexter, son of John A. and Lula Frick Knupp. He and Virginia Null were married and she preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2002.
Knupp was a graduate of Anniston High School and was a retired farmer in Mississippi County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Knightstown Christian Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Faye Lewis of Knightstown, Ind.; two sisters, Mildred Brock of Sikeston, Mo., and Irene Hanor of rural Charleston; four grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dolan Rogers. Interment will follow at Anniston Cemetery.
