CHARLESTON -- Sam Franklin Carter, 73, of Charleston, died Thursday, July 22, 1993 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston following an extended illness.
He was born Jan. 15, 1920 in Tupelo, Miss., son of Sam and Florence Carter. He was a member of the St. Matthews Baptist Church.
He married Lena Carter and she survives.
He is also survived by one brother, Roosevelt Carter, Bolton, Tenn.; three sisters, Tona Lee, Chicago, Bulah Edmond and Virgie Carter, both of Bolton, Tenn.
Friends may call Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the church with Brother Eugene Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
