Sallie Gentry

BERTRAND, Mo. -- Sallie Elizabeth Gentry, 93, of Bertrand died Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Bertrand Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 17, 1915, in the Hough township of New Madrid County, daughter of Mack Willett and Ruby Ann Anderson Peyton. She and Raymond Floyd Gentry were married March 25, 1936. He died Dec. 26, 1986.

Gentry lived in Bertrand most of her life and was employed at Bertrand Nursing Center until retirement. She was a member of the Abundant Grace Fellowship in Bertrand.

Survivors include two sons, James Gentry of Sikeston, Mo., and Michael Gentry of Bertrand; a daughter, Carole Rodgers of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.

Friends my call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Larry Kirby officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
