COLUMBIA, Mo. — Ruth Wyvonne Corbin Croy, 86, formerly of Advance, Missouri, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia. She was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Greenbriar, Missouri, to Grover and Ruth Blacklidge Corbin. She was predeceased by 11 of her 12 siblings...

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Ruth Wyvonne Corbin Croy, 86, formerly of Advance, Missouri, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017, at Lenoir Woods in Columbia.

She was born Oct. 14, 1930, in Greenbriar, Missouri, to Grover and Ruth Blacklidge Corbin.

She was predeceased by 11 of her 12 siblings.

Hers were the fondest memories of growing up in a large, loving family where she earned the nickname “Prissy.” She attended school in Greenbriar and Zalma, Missouri.

Survivors include daughters, Patsy (Eugene) Bullard of Carterville, Illinois, and Linda Shumate of Columbia; granddaughter, Sarah (Gabe) Gordon, and great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Gordon of Chicago; brother, the Rev. Jimmie (Elwanda) Corbin of Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wyvonne married the late Truman Rex Croy in Piggott, Arkansas. She and Rex enjoyed 36 happy years together. She loved her family, her home, her flowers and her church, First Baptist Church of Advance. In addition to providing a spotless home, she was variously employed at the Inland Shoe Co., the Flower Box and Advance Hardware. As she took pride in hard work, like her mother, Ruth, Wyvonne loved to talk, especially about her beloved, accomplished granddaughter Sarah. Hers was a loving, generous heart.

Wyvonne enjoyed extensive travels to numerous countries on four continents with her family.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

A celebration of life service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Morgan Cemetery in Advance.

Memorials to First Baptist Church in Advance are the preferred form of remembrance.
