Ruth Voyles, 83, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in St. Louis, daughter of John and Lena Sencibaugh Hodges. She and Vernon Maull were married Oct. 18, 1941, in St. Louis. He died Oct. 18, 1961. She and Tommy Voyles were married in 1974 at Lesterville, Mo. He died Feb. 7, 1998.
Voyles attended Southeast Missouri State University. She lived in Richmond, Va., where she was a receptionist in a doctor's office about six years. She then lived in Lesterville about 30 years, moving to Cape Girardeau two months ago. She was a member of First Baptist Church and Eastern Star in Lesterville.
Survivors include three daughters, Tanya Irby of Cape Girardeau, Sheila Borders of Annapolis, Mo., Melissa Venardos of New Haven, Mo.; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, four brothers, and two sisters.
There is no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Lesterville. The Rev. Bill Jackson will officiate.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
