BERTRAND -- Funeral service for Ruth Virginia Lovett of the Bertrand Retirement Facility will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Revs. Gerald Penn and Gerald Collier will officiate. Bob Thomason will give the eulogy. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 10 a.m. to service time.

Lovett, 76, died Monday, Dec. 18, 1995, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born Jan. 11, 1919, in Harrison, Ark., daughter of Norman B. and Anna Dean Adkisson French. She and Ray Lovett were married Sept. 25, 1936. He died April 4, 1989.

Lovett lived in Charleston most of her life. She worked at Brown Shoe Co. more than 30 years. She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Charleston, and was a Sunday School teacher 20 years.

Survivors include three daughters, Deanna Carlisle and Karen Seay of Charleston, Linda Els of Chetopa, Kan.; two brothers, Norman French of Vienna, Ill., Jack French of West Memphis, Ark.; two sisters, Marjorie Harrison of Miami, Fla., Carmen Brazel of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
