Ruth Sitter

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Ruth A. Sitter, 76, of rural Jonesboro died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

She was born April 10, 1927, in Anna, Ill., to Charles Oscar and Lola Ryan. She married Dorris Sitter in Anna in 1944. He preceded her in death. She worked for Bernis Bag Co. in Peoria, Ill.

Survivors include one son, Dorris Sitter of Jonesboro; two daughters, Lola Charlene Elkins of Anna and Cindy Sitter of Wolf Lake, Ill.; one brother, Roy Lee Ryan of McClure, Ill.; and four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Danny Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
