MOUNDS, Ill. -- Ina Ruth McClellan, 87, of Mounds passed away at 5:25 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2013, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo, Ill., where she resided for the last six days.

Ruth was born Feb. 15, 1926, at Grand Chain, Ill., daughter of the late John Clark and Myrtle Glenn Clark.

Ruth was a member of the Mighty Rivers Worship Center in Cairo.

Ruth was a former employee of the State of Illinois Department of Registration and Education. She served as Pulaski County treasurer for 16 years, and was a former treasurer for the City of Mounds.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Maxwell of Tunnell Hill, Ill., and Scott McClellan of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Raymond (Joyce) Clark of Omaha, Neb.; a special friend, Jerry Parrott of Mounds; five grandchildren, Brent McClellan, Jamie (Candice) McClellan, Justin McClellan and Ivan and Tonya Maxwell; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, James Maxwell and Carl E. McClellan; a son, Brent McClellan; granddaughters, Chassidy and Skylar Dennis; four brothers; and four sisters.

Friends may call between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry L. Potts officiating. Interment will be in the Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge.
