Ruth L. Nelson, 94, of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, Sept. 22, 1995, at the Lutheran Home.
She was born April 22, 1901, at Bourbon, daughter of John and Lucinda Mitchell. She and Edgar A. Nelson were married May 21, 1920, in Cuba, Mo. He died in January 1959.
Nelson lived in the St. James, Leesburg, Cuba area most of her life, moving to Richmond Heights in 1960 and then to Cape Girardeau in 1990. She was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church in Richmond Heights.
Survivors include two daughters, Edna Coad of Cape Girardeau, Catherine Nelson of Richmond Heights; a brother, John Mitchell of Sullivan; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Private family visitation will be held Sunday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel.
Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Mo. The Rev. Stephen L. Faletti will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
