M. Ruth Miller Kobler, 82, of Marion, Ill., died Friday, June 18, 2004, at her home.
Kobler was born Sept. 1, 1921, in Creal Springs, Ill., daughter of Harvey Bertrum and Lula Ann Schafer Riddle. She graduated from Marion High School.
She and George W. Miller were married Feb. 14, 1942, in Jackson; he died Oct. 19, 1992. She and Raymond Kobler were married Feb. 22, 1997, in Marion.
Kobler was first a beautician. She then received her real estate broker license and became co-owner of Carl Harvel Real Estate Agency in Marion from the late 1950s until she retired in 1970. After her retirement she and her first husband moved to Florida in 1980; she returned to Marion in 1993.
Se was a member of the Marion First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Beverly Reeves of Cape Girardeau and Becky Duckworth of Mill Shoals, Ill.; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Jackson and Beverly Milner, both of Marion; a brother, Charles Riddle of Lake City, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several step-grandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.
Friends may call from 4 and 8 p.m. Sunday at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home in Marion.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Dr. Joey Brent officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Marion.
