SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ruth Johnson, 83, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center. She was born May 25, 1920, in Lynn, Ark., daughter of Grover and Elmer Penn Bristow. She and Kenneth Johnson were married Dec. 14, 1939, in Black Rock, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 1982...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ruth Johnson, 83, of Sikeston died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

She was born May 25, 1920, in Lynn, Ark., daughter of Grover and Elmer Penn Bristow. She and Kenneth Johnson were married Dec. 14, 1939, in Black Rock, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 1982.

Johnson retired from Brown Shoe Co.

Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Hubbard of Sikeston; a brother, Vaughn DeCordova of Texarkana, Texas; a sister, Pauline Law of Texarkana, Ark.; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Mo., with the Rev. Danny Kemp officiating.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
