Ruth Pauline Choate, 89, died Tuesday, June 4, 1996, at Fountainbleau Lodge in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 13, 1906, near Advance, the daughter of William Henry and Mary Virginia Fitzwater Yates. She married Elvis L. Choate in 1930 in Jackson. He died March 6, 1987.
Choate attended the Church of Christ in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include four sons, Carl and Don Choate, both of Scott City, James Choate of Farmington and John Choate of Cape Girardeau; one sister, Virginia Owens of Cape Girardeau; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, one half-brother, two sisters and one half-sister.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Ford & Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Ford & Sons with David Bragg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
