CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ruth Bernice Nations Carroll, 93, of Chaffee died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 19, 1919, in Morley, Mo., to Braxton Edward and Minnie Bell Stanley Nations. She married Leonard N. Carroll Oct. 12, 1946, in Mayfield, Ky. He preceded her in death Oct. 3, 2003.
She was a graduate of Morley High School. She was a member of Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City and VFW Auxiliary to Post 3127 in Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Bill (Valerie) Carroll of Chaffee; a daughter, Judi Coleman of Cape Girardeau; three grandchildren, Greg (Kim) Shambo of Greenview, Ill., Tia Shay Isaacs-Barks of Cape Girardeau, John (Andrea) Carroll of Boise, Idaho; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sherma Brashear of Oran, Mo.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the chapel. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery at New Hamburg, Mo.
