GRAND CHAIN, Ill. -- Joint graveside service for Ruth Bartleson, 94, and Mary Ruth Jarka, 72, both of Elgin, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Masonic Cemetery in Grand Chain. The Rev. William Gordon will officiate.
There is no visitation.
Wilson Funeral Home in Karnak is in charge of arrangements.
Bartleson is the mother of Jarka.
Bartleson was born April 1, 1904, in Mound City, daughter of James and Flora Childers Fitzgerrell. She married James Bartleson, who preceded her in death.
She was formerly of East Cape Girardeau and Grand Chain.
Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Schultz of Muscoda, Wis.; a brother, George Childers of Clarksville, Ind.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother.
Jarka was born Dec. 3, 1925, in Elgin, daughter of James and Ruth Fitzgerrell Bartleson. She married Thomas Jarka, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Anita Gordon, Sylvia Maxwell and Jasmine McCluskey, all of Cary; a sister, Virginia Schultz of Muscoda; and three grandchildren.
