Ruth R. Barnes, 85, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, June 7, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born May 30, 1912, at Knottsville, Tenn., the daughter of Joseph Albert and Cecil May King Rudd.
She married Dr. Seth Barnes on Oct. 5, 1935, at Marion, Ark. He died June 4, 1982.
She was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club, the medical auxiliary, First Presbyterian Church and the Women's Circle Five at church. She was a 1932 graduate of the University of Tennessee.
Her husband was a well-known dermatologist in Cape Girardeau.
She is survived by a brother, J. Paul Rudd of Philadelphia, Tenn., and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from noon to 1 at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Memorial Park, with the Rev. Brendan Dempsey officiating.
