Ruth Barnes

GRASSY, Mo. -- Ruth Eilene Barnes, 69, of Grassy died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2006, at her home.

She was born Aug. 22, 1937, at Grassy, daughter of James A. and Winnie Talley Shiverdeck. She and Kenneth Barnes were married Sept. 27, 1997, at Grassy Friendship General Baptist Church in Grassy.

Barnes was a member of Grassy Church.

Survivors include her husband; five brothers, Joe Shiverdeck of Iberia, Mo., Bill Shiverdeck of Imperial, Mo., Leland Shiverdeck of Grassy, Charles Shiverdeck of Festus, Mo., Carl Shiverdeck of Dupo, Ill.; and a sister, Nina Eichelberger of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grassy Church, with the Rev. Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
