JACKSON -- Russell Edwin "Eddie" Puls, 40, of Manhattan, N.Y., died Thursday, Aug. 5, 1993, at his studio in Manhattan, N.Y.
He was born Aug. 5, 1993, at Cape Girardeau, son of Edwin and Evelyn Puls.
He married Sonya Von Kester, June 21, 1986, at Ridgewood, N.J.
Puls grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1970. He attended the Nashville, Tenn., Harris School of Advertising and Commercial Art.
He later attended New York City's Art Student's League. Puls had been featured many times in New Yorker magazines. Puls was a self-employed artist for 20 years in New York City.
Puls was to have an exhibition of "Full Circle, Round Trip from Jackson to New York," at a local art gallery last month. The exhibition was canceled.
Puls was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his parents of Jackson; his wife of New York City; and a brother, Van Puls of Jackson.
Friends may call at the from 4-5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. Lawrence Eatherton officiating.
