Russell "Rusty" E. Dakin, 66, of Mounds, Ill., former Pulaski County sheriff, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Revs. Buddy Walls and Tom Bridges officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mound City National Cemetery in Mound City with full military honors given by the Illinois National Guard Ritual Team and area veterans.
