A memorial service for Russell L. Bankston of Ocklawaha, Fla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Bethany Baptist Church. The Rev. Donny Ford will officiate.
Mr. Bankston, 76, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at Monroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla.
He was born Feb. 8, 1924, near Lilbourn, Mo., son of Ruben and Lillian Rose Bankston. He married the former Norma Steward Pind.
Bankston retired as a leather cutter at Florsheim Shoe Co. He moved to Ocklawaha in 1998 from Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his wife; an uncle and aunt, E.G. and Billie Rose of Wappapello, Mo.; two stepsons, Thomas Hale of Jackson, Mo., Michael Hale of Cape Girardeau; three stepdaughters, Dorrliss Ware of Ocklawaha, Patricia Glueck of San Antonio, Texas, Rose Martin of Pacific Grove, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
