POPLAR BLUFF -- Funeral service for Russell Avery Knuckles, Poplar Bluff Route 9, will be held at 1 p.m. today at Cotrell Funeral Chapel. The Rev. John Barker will officiate, with burial in Memorial Gardens here.
Knuckles, 67, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 1994, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center, following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 20, 1926, at Malden. He and Esther Miller were married Aug. 15, 1947, at Poplar Bluff. She died Dec. 1, 1977.
Knuckles was a retired truck driver. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include two sons, James Knuckles of St. Louis, Michael Knuckles of Sweet Water, Tenn.; three daughters, Brenda Kirk of Cape Girardeau, Diana Hendrickson of Dale City, Va., Shelia Barker of Valparaiso, Fla.; two brothers, Hershel Knuckles of Poplar Bluff, Mitt Knuckles of St. Louis; two sisters, Eunice Edmond of Fredericktown, Geraldine Montgomery of Poplar Bluff; 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
