MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Rusby Lanford Mayfield, 94, of Marble Hill died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girar­deau. He was born Dec. 25, 1912, son of Marshall Hamilton and Amanda Bess Mayfield. He and Anna Idell Long were married Dec. 16, 1939. She died Nov. 26, 2003...

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Rusby Lanford Mayfield, 94, of Marble Hill died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girar­deau.

He was born Dec. 25, 1912, son of Marshall Hamilton and Amanda Bess Mayfield. He and Anna Idell Long were married Dec. 16, 1939. She died Nov. 26, 2003.

Mayfield was a farmer. He was a member of Scopus United Methodist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Larry, Gene and Junior Mayfield of Marble Hill, Gary Mayfield of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and four sisters.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jessie Long and Gene Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Cook Cemetery at Scopus, Mo.
