CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Rulen G. Knox, 43, of Sullivan, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2004.

He was born June 27, 1961, at Chaffee, son of Rulen Spies and Judy Bagwell. He and Deborah Phegley were married in Sullivan.

Knox was employed by Operating Engineers Local 513 in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a stepson, Brandon Birdwell with U.S. Air Force in Italy; a stepdaughter, Brandy Schaefer of Chaffee; his father and stepmother, Rulen and Darlene Spies of Lowndes, Mo.; his mother and stepfather, Judy and Frank Knox of Seneca, S.C.; two brothers, Norman Spies and John Knox; three sisters, Kim Wolting, Elizabeth Spies and Cindy Knox.

A memorial service was held Saturday at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Mike Delashmit officiated.
