Rufus Leo Sides, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Allenville, Mo., son of Cobie and Flora Pettit Sides. He and Lucille Kinder were married Oct. 11, 1969. She preceded him in death...

Rufus Leo Sides, 80, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Services of Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 10, 1921, at Allenville, Mo., son of Cobie and Flora Pettit Sides. He and Lucille Kinder were married Oct. 11, 1969. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Primm of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Wilbert Sides of Battle Creek, Mich., Kenneth Sides of Cape Girardeau; five stepsons; seven stepdaughters; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. James AME Church. The Rev. David Allen Sr. will officiate. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.

Friends may call at the church Friday from noon until service time.

Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.
